IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT SOUNDTRACK – SIGNED

In The Heat of the Night SIGNED LPBI’ve posted a vinyl soundtrack I’ve been working on for the film, “In the Heat of the Night.” The 1967 film starred Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier. The title song was sung by Ray Charles. The Music Composed and Conducted by Quincy Jones. Lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman. The film won several Academy Awards – including BEST MOTION PICTURE of 1967. It’s considered an all-time classic.

I was able to get this item autographed by four: Quincy Jones, Sidney Poitier, and Alan and Marilyn Bergman. I’ve been working on this piece for YEARS! I guess I could add a few more names to the record, but I’ve sort of gotten a bit tired of chasing everyone down. It seems like every time I run across Norman Jewison I forget to bring the record along.

Anyway – I’ve posted the item for sale in my eBay store. It’s a classic soundtrack, fairly uncommon to locate autographed by with multiple signatures.

Bryan Adams SIGNED 2012 Book on Photography

Bryan Adams SIGNED 2012 Book on Photography

Picked up one more unpersonalized SIGNED copy of Bryan Adams’ new photography book. I’ve detailed how difficult it is to obtain an unpersonalized copy of this book in the story posted earlier (SEE BELOW) – I looked all over the internet and couldn’t find another single unpersonalized copy for sale anywhere on-line. This is my last and only copy left for sale. It’s posted in my new eBay store if you’re interested.

PAPARAZZO KILLED IN LOS ANGELES

Sad news in Los Angeles, California last night – a young paparazzi was killed when he stepped out in front of a vehicle while trying to obtain a story on Justin Beiber. The story has been all over the news. I didn’t know the photographer but I’d seen him around at various events.

I was surprised how fast word spread on the streets about the guy being killed. I was getting telephone calls from paparazzi and autograph collectors only hours after it happened.

Here’s the thing: this could have easily happened to an autograph collector. This hobby can become dangerous at times when you get into hardcore collecting. I have to admit there have been times that I’ve been ‘caught up in the moment’ and almost made a stupid life-threatening blunder to secure an autograph.  It’s not uncommon to see autograph collectors chasing celebrities in their cars at a dangerously high speed. I’ve sometimes been pushed into the streets in front of oncoming traffic by overzealous fans and collectors pushing and shoving to get a signature.

Hell, just a few months ago I obtained a signature from Fergie and was driving away from a restaurant when a drunk driver zoomed out of nowhere and smashed into my car. Maybe if my mind wasn’t on the autograph I would have noticed the vehicle faster? Who knows? Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured.

No autograph is worth your life. Be safe. Use good judgement. Stay alert.

George H. Bush Dora SIGNED 2bI’ve posted a few SIGNED copies of President George H.W. Bush books. There have been reports of his health deteriorating. Bush Sr. has always been a fairly difficult Presidential signature to obtain. He’s not like Jimmy Carter or Clinton. He hasn’t done many book signing appearances and its relatively hard to get near enough to the man to get an item autographed. I remember when Reagan died the prices of his signed books skyrocketed. Will this be the same situation with George H.W. Bush?  He served in the Reagan administration and is still respected somewhat in the Middle East. I have a feeling that his books will shoot up in price when he passes away and people begin to reflect more closely on his legacy.

Weird Al Record TWO LargebCheck out this signed ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic LP – what a nice guy. I often will post ‘bitch articles’ about difficult signers but I don’t give the good-guys enough credit. Weird Al is pretty cool with autograph collectors. I caught up with him recently outside of a club here in Los Angeles. It was raining and I wasn’t sure if Weird Al would be willing to stand outside and sign my stuff while he was getting wet. He was very cool about it though and autographed everything I had. Nice guy.
